Work in socialism will be voluntary

 Why would people work voluntarily in a class-free socialist society so that everyone would have free access to what they need? 

Well, first of all, we have to remember that we are looking ahead to when people will have then abandoned capitalism and chosen socialism to replace it. 

Secondly, voluntarily working (to meet needs) and cooperating is how humans behaved for thousands of years before the private ownership of property came along. 

Thirdly, although capitalism hinders unpaid work — because people must earn money to pay for what they need — even now, globally, there are around a BILLION voluntary workers!* 

If a billion people can manage to do voluntary work now, under money-driven capitalism, then there will be no problem when we have a money-free cooperative unified society, perfectly suited to voluntarism!

*The UN Volunteers organisation estimated the number of global volunteers as being 970 million in 2017.
