The world is in perpetual motion,
Flux of change never rests: Whatever is
For a moment, will no longer be. This
Natural algorithm of creation
Generates broad oceans and continents,
Flora and fauna, births and extinctions,
Tribes and empires, settlements and migrations,
Societies and their discontents.
Those who declare themselves for radical change
Have such aspirations well grounded,
Who speaks otherwise shall be confounded;
Where the old’s conserved, the new must impinge.
No matter how distant the prospect seems,
Time can realise what the present dreams.
