The [C]looneys host a party for Hilarity

While millions of Americans are struggling to put dinner on the table, the wealthiest people in this country have never had it so good. They also get to have the ear of the probable future president.

At a dinner set to take place at the San Francisco home of venture capitalist Shervin Pishevar, and hosted by George Clooney and his wife, for $353,400, a sum that would require an employee making the federal minimum wage to work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for more than 5 years*, you and your dining partner can be an honorary "event chair," a designation which comes with the exciting opportunity to lobby (likely future president) Clinton during a "roundtable". A bit too rich for your taste? For the $100,000, you and a guest can hang out at the reception. Still too expensive? For $33,400 you can get a photo with candidate.

Three couples on the head table should net over $1 million This unabashed display of such obscene wealth in view of millions of starving children in this country illustrates how decadent and utterly rotten society has become. How can anybody associated with such a deplorable event call herself "progressive"?  The money is for the Hillary Victory Fund. While the maximum donation to a presidential campaign is $2,700 for the primary elections (plus another $2,700 for the general), the Hillary Victory Fund can accept much larger contributions because it is a so-called joint fundraising committee that is comprised of multiple committees.

*Note on the 5-year 24/7 figure. Drop the 24 hours to 8 hours and the years go to 15 years. Then add in weekends and any vacation (if) and you have anywhere from 15 years minimum to 20 years or so for the average wage earner to earn (before taxes and all other living expenses) so much money which just one rich so-and-so will throw Hillary's way in a few hours of banqueting.
