Personal wealth is becoming increasingly greater and more concentrated. It is very clear is that the rich are getting richer and the very rich even more so. It’s a trend with no let up.
“In 2003 there were 56,100 families worth US$50 million or more controlling, in the aggregate, US$11.8 trillion,” reports David Friedman, President of Wealth-X. “Today there are 107,100 families worth US$50 million or more. That’s an increase of 6.7% annually. These families control US$22.9 trillion, which is an increase of 6.9% annually.”
