International Criminal Justice Day
The Queen said:
'There's the King's Messenger.
He's in prison now, being punished:
and the trial doesn't even begin till next Wednesday:
and of course the crime comes last of all.'
'Suppose he never commits the crime?' said Alice.
From 'Through the Looking Glass' by Lewis Carroll, 1872
The International Criminal Justice Day is commemorated on 17 July; this is the day that marks the entry into force of the Rome Statute for the International Criminal Court (ICC), which took place in 2002.
Many would say that fact is often stranger than fiction.
