This is a by-election triggered by the resignation of Tory MP, Zac Goldsmith as a protest against the government's backing for a new runway at Heathrow Airport. He will stand again, but as an independent. The SPGB is not fielding a candidate but using the opportunity to put forward the case for socialism.
