FOLLOW THOSE SHEEP! (poem)

FOLLOW THOSE SHEEP!

Labour are being urged to get tough on immigration

to improve their forthcoming General Election chances.

If matching voters bias is,

The savvy thing to do;

It really begs the question now, 

(Re politics most sacred cow)

“Just who is leading who”?!

Our ‘leaders’ are supposed to take,

Us to the promised land;

Now in effect they follow us

In case they miss the polling bus,

Quite meekly hand in hand!

The message though, is still the same,

Tomorrow we’ll get jam;

It’s politician’s biggest lie,   

Our slice of their pie in the sky,

Their longest running scam.

Once Labour claimed they’d change our world,

Beginning with old Clem; (1)

They didn’t change society

With Fabian sobriety--

Society changed them!

And as their new Jerusalem,

Began to slowly fade;

Then power and wealth became the goal,

As by succeeding at the Poll,

They found they’d got it made.

Today the party’s in the hands,

Of the careerist set;

Controlling all the cushy jobs,

And there to sucker us poor slobs,

For all that they can get!
