A FREUDIAN DRIP!
15/10/2014. Sigmund Freud’s great-grandson, Welfare Reform
Minister, Lord David Freud (who’d previously said food banks were
caused by greed) had to apologise for remarks about the disabled.
Lord Freud’s quote is, ironically,
A cliché not in vain;
As it proves politicians lack,
(Especially when they start to quack)
An organ like a brain!
It also shows, quite tellingly,
Especially on his part;
The nouveau riche have little use, (1)
When their own wealth is so profuse,
For organs like a heart. (2)
It might have been a clash between,
His ego and his id;
But if he’s the full shilling, then
Like some Westminster gentlemen,
He’s keeping it well hid!
What planet in our system do,
These people live upon?
And will our social system’s ways,
Cause it to end our planet’s days,
When things are too far gone?
It’s bad enough for all those folk,
In poverty’s harsh grip,
Without the doubtful ‘benefit’,
Of listening to this hypocrite,
And half-baked Freudian drip.
Instead of spouting balderdash,
Lord David should, instead;
Heed great-grandfather’s theories and,
Ensure that he himself is scanned,
Quite promptly in the head!
(1) Scientific studies show that the wealthier someone
is, the less compassionate they tend to become.
(2) With a house worth £1.9m, he made his fortune in the
City with, what Dominic Lawson of the Independent describes
as, “a reputation for finding gold in a mound of silage”.
