Honduras continues to struggle with inequality and poverty according to a recently published report published by the Social Fund of the External Debt and Development of Honduras (FOSDEH).
"At the end of 2017 Honduras continues to sink into inequality and poverty," group highlighted.
379,203 Hondurans were added to the countries poverty list for 2017.
In 2016, 65.7 percent of Honduras' population lived in poverty and at the end of this year that percentage has increased to 68.8 percent.
Additionally FOSDEH notes, 6,079,082 persons live in poverty, and that of these 3,902,122 (44.2 percent) live in extreme poverty with the other 2,176,960 (24.7 percent) described as in relative poverty.
It states that 64.3 percent live in poverty and of these 60.4 percent belong to the urban area and 69.3 percent to the rural area.
