Obama's Record

There is a tendency in the liberal media confronted by the authoritarianism of Trump to look back with nostalgia to the "sensible" and "rational" politics of Obama. But just how enlightened was Obama's time in office? This article on Countercurrents suggests it was less than admirable.

The essay states Obama abandoned and betrayed every principle about the rule of law and should be sitting in a jail cell in The Hague with the International Criminal Court.

Chomsky had this to say about Obama about his drone murder campaign: “…particularly to the drone assassinations, the most extreme terrorist campaign of modern times – which have killed more than 5,000 people, including U.S. citizens and hundreds of children.” Indeed referring to this campaign Obama bragged: “…I’m really good at killing people!”

The first thing Obama does when he comes into office is he increases Bush's 26,000 troops in Afghanistan to 100,000 troops.

Obama's next venture is to intervene in Libya with regime change, creating a bloody civil war taht continues to this day and the consequent political vacuum contributes to the current refugee crisis.

Obama then moves the focus of his foreign policy to Syria cooperating with jihadist terrorists to help create a total catastrophe.

And let us not forget the civil war in Yemen and the Saudi Arabian intervention. Obama supported Saudi Arabia and the UAE against Yemen which set off another humanitarian catastrophe.

Obama's domestic policy where he was described as the deporter-in-chief and the Wall St President deserves a separate essay
