Empty Pockets

Almost a quarter of UK adults have no savings to fall back on if times get tough, a report suggests.

Around 12.1million do not have a savings product such as an ISA, or an easy access or fixed-term account.
And of those who do, 24 per cent put nothing away each month while 48 per cent save £100 or less.
32 per cent of those aged 66 to 75 had £1,000 or less put away compared to 69 per cent of those 26 to 35.
