The
Socialist Party of Canada endeavours to be “the nucleus of the
revolt of the slaves of Canada against capitalism. Its policy is to
educate the slaves of Canada to an understanding of their position
and organize them for concerted political action, to the end that
they may wrest the powers of State from the hands of capital, and use
them to strip the master class of its property rights in the means of
production and to make these the collective property of the
producers.”
Under
the rule of capital the world has become an armed camp. Between
nations there is no peace, nor can there be any so long as human
society rests upon a basis of slavery and the forcing of its proceeds
upon the markets. This compels each capitalist nation to open the way for its
expansion, by the conquering of additional markets. The whole world
today is being pushed to the brink of a precipice, beyond which lies
war and slaughter, with all their concomitant horrors.
The
Socialist Party of Canda is a party seeking contact with the workers,
a party in which the theorists and doctrinaires as such will find
small place, a party of the workers, and with them in their struggles
against capitalist exploitation, striving always for Industrial
Freedom and Emancipation from wage slavery. The Socialist Party of
Canada proudly declares itself a party of revolutionary socialism
which stands for the abolition of capitalism, nothing more and
nothing less. Its activities have always been directed towards the
complete overthrow of capitalism, and to that end it has concentrated
its attention upon the education of their fellow-workers.
For the Socialist Party of Canada socialism has to be the work of the vast majority of the population
or not at all. Socialism is inseparable from democracy, and was in
their eyes, its full realization. The role of socialists is to
educate and not lead. Sneered at as “out of date” with its ever-present language of class war, the SPC's libertarian message is more receptive today than the Leftist demands for
nationalization and state control. The capitalist is frequently aided
in its task of spreading confusion by reformers who declare their
sole interest to be the protection and advancement of working class
interests. The only hope of the working class is to turn class
property into collective property, by seizing what stands in the way
- the powers of government – and using them on its only behalf as
long as necessary, and then discarding them.
Our work is plain before
us, the masters hold their place because they hold political power,
they are few, we are many, we must then join hands with our brothers
and sisters, go to the ballot and grasp political power to send our
own men and women to parliament. The Socialist Party of Canada have
this aim in view, not to engage with reform but to go straight to the
goal and sweep the master class from power. The lesson is plain,
fellow-workers, so we call on you to join with us in our mission of
awakening and educating the working class to their slave position in
society so that the day may soon dawn when we will be able to throw
aside the chains which bind us and stand forth FREE men and women.
with superstition and slavery behind it, its feet for the first time
planted on the soil of freedom, humanity will pass through the doors
of a new dawn
The
Socialist party of Canada is the political expression of the
interests of the working class. The immediate future does not
look especially bright for the working class. It will grow darker
even still unless the workers rise to the task of removing the curse
of capital from the means of production, thus clearing the way for a
better, a more decent civilization. The problem of production has
been solved by the working class. The task now at hand is the
solution of the problem of how to so handle the means of production
and dispose of the product as to best conserve the interests of all.
An understanding of the principles and program of the Socialist Party
of Canada will point out the solution. How
long will you dally? Knowledge is power. Read, study, think and then
act. For things will go from bad to worse until you have sense enough
to call a halt.
“The
Socialist Party of Canada has been organized and is making excellent
progress. This is a clear-cut and uncompromising socialist party, and
is bound to be a party of the future.” - Eugene Debs

They publish a magazine, Imagine, so why not request a copy or a few copies to distribute
But they are still only a very small number so if you are at all interested in helping its growth, why not drop in on them if you are local, or contact by e-mail.
It is on Wikipedia at:
