Walkabout with socialists Manchester (25/5 May)

Manchester Branch will have an outing to the Samuel Bamford Trail in the Middleton area of north Manchester. Bamford was the organiser of the Middleton contingent at Peterloo, and he wrote an eye-witness account of the massacre. The trail takes in various places associated with Bamford and Peterloo, including the assembly point for the Middleton contingent, his memorial in the cemetery and some pubs he frequented. Meet at 2pm by the Travel Shop at Middleton Bus Station; Middleton can be reached by buses from Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale and Bury, among other places. It is a short walk from the bus station to the start of the trail, which involves some gentle hills.

Meet Saturday, 25th, 2PM, by the Travel Shop at Middleton Bus Station M24 4E
