NOW CHRISTMAS DAY IS HERE AGAIN!

Now Christmas Day is here again,                                                 

This season of good cheer;

That seems to last from Halloween,

To Burns Night the next year! ^{(25th Jan.)}                                   

There's peace throughout the universe,

And goodwill by the score;

Except, of course, on Mother Earth,

Where there is want and war.

Food Banks, thanks to Austerity,

Will open up all day;

For bread and dripping courtesy,

Of Christian, Mrs May.

The homeless will tuck into soup,

And old dry Christmas Pud;

Whilst H.M. Queen on TV says,

How British life’s so good!

And Santa will be on his rounds,

With presents on his sleigh;

Avoiding potholes in the snow,

Whilst sledging on his way.

Once more it's been a fruitful year,

For the Retailing Trade;

Who’ll pray to Mammon once again,

That they had got it made!
