California overtakes the UK to become 'world's fifth largest economy'. California has a gross domestic product of $2.46 trillion. California’s economy grew by 4.1 per cent in 2015 while the UK economy grew by 2.2 per cent.
In June, the state of California’s GDP surpassed France.
