Fact of the Day

The number of children living in absolute poverty across Italy has risen to over 1.4 million, a rise from 1.058 million in the previous year.

The figures revealed a rise of the Italian population living in absolute poverty, from 8 percent in 2012 to 9.9 percent the following year.

The southern part of the country is the worst affected area, where 14.8 percent of the people were living in absolute poverty
