Data from between 1999 and 2007 of 324 Local Authorities showed that a 1% reduction in unemployment rates equated to an additional 2.2 months of male and 1.7 months of female in life expectancies. An average increase of £1000 in household income was associated with an additional 1.4 months of male and 1.1 months of female life expectancy.
