Middle Class?

"What we now describe as a middle-class family is smaller and now requires at least two working parents or one parent working at least a job and half. Many, if not most, are living from paycheck to paycheck. Imagine a runner on a treadmill that is constantly increasing in speed, struggling desperately not to get thrown off. That is the American middle class. Middle class is no longer an entirely appropriate term for folks who are one or two paychecks from financial disaster. People who have jobs but have debts wildly disproportionate to their income, no assets to speak of and are honest with themselves should admit that what they really are is poor." - William Fitzpatrick of Kansas City.

It may take a while but people do learn the reality of class.
