UK wages inequality widens

The divide between the highest and lowest wages in the UK marks the highest level of inequality since World War I, experts say.

Income Data Services found that the average FTSE 100 chief executive pay was £4.9m, a figure that had risen more than 50% in a year. This equates to 200 times the average wage

The lowest paid section of the British society with £5.93 an hour makes up the poorest fifth of employees,well below the poverty line in Britain.
