Very impressive, considering it was published almost 100 years ago.Mike McDadenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36028082.post-90833810017745687882013-08-26T14:56:10.671+00:002013-08-26T14:56:10.671+00:00Perhaps this early article from our archives may b...Perhaps this early article from our archives may be of interest

http://www.worldsocialism.org/spgb/socialist-standard/1900s/1908/no-43-march-1908/can-socialist-be-christianajohnstonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09874891810770297962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36028082.post-68557014346986436132013-08-26T13:09:24.475+00:002013-08-26T13:09:24.475+00:00-The Bible makes the claim that it is the ...-The Bible makes the claim that it is the completed word of a Creator (2 Timothy 3 verse 16).
-The Bible teaches Christians are also supposed to be unified (Ephesians 4 verse 5).
-The Bible warns that to tamper with its contents or to present its message in a distorted or misleading manner will result in severe consequences for those responsible (Revelation 22 verses 18 & 19).
-The Bible commands that true Christians are to be no part of the world of politics (Psalm 146 verses 3-5)

It follows then that the Bible is fixed and should not be adulterated. Consequently, those so-called Christians mentioned in your article are doing what they ought not. By their own profession and inferred responsibility they are blasphemous, if there is such a thing. And, so many denominations? What’s going on there?

It is indeed correct to say that socialism and TRUE Christianity share some qualities – the hope of emancipation of the oppressed among mankind, deliverance from inequity, the outcome of happiness and well-being, among others. But one outcome will be achieved through human intervention and determination, and the other by unworldly means. With the former, the majority of mankind collectively take control of their own destiny and organise to improve their lot; with the latter, the majority of mankind accept their lot as inevitable and hand their future salvation over to their invisible Creator and await his salvation (through his appointed King).

HOW CAN YOU BE A CHRISTIAN AND A SOCIALIST? THE TWO ARE ANTAGONISTIC. THEY ARE INCOMPATIBLE AND CANNOT BE INTERLACED.

I know little of other religions of the world, but an educated guess leads me to think that this analogy would produce a similar logical outcome.

Does a creator/do creators exist? Let the available evidential FACTS speak for themselves.

POINT OF POSSIBLE INTEREST:-

The hope of a heavenly life appears to be another false doctrine taught by the churches of Christendom. I was a diligent student of the Bible for over a decade: nowhere to my knowledge does it teach that mankind in general will go to heaven. It does teach that a finite number from among mankind will serve as co-rulers with Jesus in Heaven (Revelation 5 verse 10 & Revelation 7 verses 3&4), but that the rest of mankind have the prospect of eternal life on earth (Psalm 37 verse 29).Mike McDadenoreply@blogger.com
