In the Irish Republic there is there are currently 77,000 homes in mortgage arrears and 91,000 people on social housing waiting lists.
ONLY people on high incomes can now afford to buy a home, Central Bank Governor Philip Lane said, adding that the Government’s help-to-buy tax rebate scheme is driving house prices up.
