“FIENDS, MORONS AND FOX-HUNTRYMEN – LEND ME YOUR CHEERS”! (Weekly Poem)

“FIENDS, MORONS AND FOX-HUNTRYMEN – LEND ME YOUR CHEERS”!

At the 2015 Manchester Tory Conference, Boris
Johnson, Teresa May and George Osborne made
speeches positioning themselves to succeed Cameron.

The ‘workers party’ – what a joke! (1)
(One laughed until it hurt!)
The choice between Fat BoJo or,
The bedroom-taxer of the poor,
That skinny Osborne squirt!

Or maybe mini-skirted May,
With all her girlish charms;
But talking up a vicious squeeze,
Upon all would-be refugees, (2)
With folded, hostile arms!

Which of the male contenders has,
That Cameron shy charm;
Or more correctly to be blunt,
That upper-class twit bumptious front,
And Bullingdon Club smarm? (3)

The Conference has elements,
Distinctly Kafka-esque;
As every year there comes to pass,
A nightmare Nuremburg-like farce, (4)
That’s more and more grotesque.

The Tory faithful as we all know,
Aren’t difficult to please;
Their leaders simply have to gush,
And talk completely out their tush,
And carry on the SQUEEZE!

(1) The Tories now claim to be “the workers party”.

(2) May made a ‘tough’ anti-immigrant speech to play
to the gallery—and to mask higher immigration figures.

(3) Both Johnson and Osborne, like Cameron, are
old Bullingdon Club boys.

(4) The Nazi Nuremburg Rallies were one of the forerunners of
today’s staged political meetings and were designed to emphasise
the concept of the ‘Der Fuhrerprinzip’ or ‘Leadership principle’.
